Don't make your head a filing cabinet

I've often times wondered why people hardly keep records or write down what they want to do. It is often said that a pen is mightier than a sword. This statement is not just true but factual. I've personally found this to be true too. Another surprising thing, it is very simple to do. You don't have to depend on your brain for everything you want to store. You may not forget them when you need them but you likely will lack the  will power and motivation to go on when crises arise.

Just like a meticulous woman will do whenever she wants to go to the market. She'll write down a list of all she wants to buy before advancing further to purchase those items in their list. It gives her a sense of direction. There are so many eye catching goods and services  in the market. Without this list chances are, she might be carried away by a variety of fantastic and enticing goods displayed in the public glare for buyers to get attracted. As little as a list can be, it has the potential to guide her through out her visit to the market. It will serve as a constant reminder of what brought her to the market.

Another lesson learnt from making a list is scale of preference. This list will assist her to arrange what she wants to buy in order of preference and priority. In this list also there's both plan A and  B. She has it in mind that if she does not get what she wants, she'll  go for the available alternative.

Same thing with life. Anything you want to do and you really mean it ,write it down. Don't depend largely on your brain for storage. That is why pen, paper and books are made. Can you imagine how the world will look like if there was nothing written for you to learn. We wouldn't have been better than other mammals. As a matter of fact, one of the best ways to differentiate between your heart and your head is through writing especially when done sincerely. Through writing you can start planning strategically on how to carry out all your wonderful ideas.

Goals (click here to read more on how to set goals)were never meant to be stored in the head. They were meant to be written and kept in a position you'll always see. This will serve as a constant reminder of your dreams. As you read them daily, they will reinforce the inner guy to stand in the face of adversity. Goal setting is very important and highly indispensable to anybody who aspires to climb to the top without paying attention to distractions. When things are being put down, i.e the things you want to achieve, the project you want to work on, you automatically give yourself a target.

In the beginning of this post I made mention of record keeping. A lot of times we get caught up in our daily activities that we forget the essence of record keeping. Record keeping is easier when it is done right at the spot because the memory of what you've done is still fresh. You need to keep track of what goes in and out of your pocket. This will help you to know whether you need to adjust your lifestyle or not. It will help to define the type of person you've become lately. It will clearly show you whether you're making progress or not. Sometimes you think you have enough and you don't have while sometimes you think you don't have whereas you have more than enough. Keeping proper records will give you a very clear picture rather than beating about the bush. You don't need a degree in Financial accounting to do all this. Write it as best as you can understand after all, the main ingredient can be understood by you. Click here to know how to live up to the challenge

From record keeping we'll all learn to appreciate God and ourselves for making such progress. When my Cyber Cafe business shortly after booming turn red, I forgot all the income I onced had at this period where sales were in good nick. I became depressed. One of the days, I decided to look at my sales book. Wow! What I saw was amazing.  I was shocked to see how far I've really gone. I discovered the period that sales were in red were just a few days. My countenance changed and I was bouncing in the radiance of gratitude. That was how I became turned on to cloud nine knowing assuredly that the stormy season was just for a while. And after then I strongly believed we would bounce back and we sure did. I believe you know how it looks like to make sales when you're down in the dumps.

Having come this far, I will like to see people respond to this post either by setting their goals or commenting on any point you think worth discussing more.
